Scope:

This work was part of the Steel Main relining project, and replaced an old Pressure Reducing station that was removed. This new installation was in the middle of the intersection of Gorge Road, Government Street, Hillside Ave and Douglas Street. This involved the excavation of a pit roughly 7m x 7m x 5 meters deep, the construction of a cast in place concrete vault, and the supply and installation of twin 300mm diameter pressure reducing valves and associated stainless steel piping. This station was completed below grade, with surface parking above the station for service vehicles, as well as a stairway access for maintenance personnel.
