CVRD Peerless Recycling Center

Client: Cowichan Valley Regional District

Project Value: $2,300,000.00

Date: May 2013 to November 2013

Scope:

This project was to convert an old landfill site to a new recycling facility. The existing landfill material was moved on site to facilitate the new grading plan. The landfill material was sorted while it was being moved, to remove recyclable materials, like metals, which were recycled. The landfill areas were capped with a Geotextile liner, or asphalt pavement, to seal off the surface to prevent leaching of the landfill materials. The existing metal clad building was renovated, and made into a west coast post and beam structure. The site was serviced with sewer, drainage and water, as well as underground electrical services and lighting.
