Cook Street Upgrade

Scope: The project was completed for the District of Saanich, and involved the complete reconstruction of Cook Street from Quadra Street to Maplewood Drive. The road was closed to through traffic for 7 months, local traffic was permitted. In addition to a completely rebuilt road with dedicated bike lanes, underground utilities like Storm drain, Sanitary sewer and Watermains were replaced including services to each house/business. Also as part of the project, new street trees were planted to offset the ones removed during construction, as well as construction of 4 Rain gardens for treatment of runoff from the roads. The project commenced in August 2014 and was completed in May 2015 with the final cost being $4.8M , and came in under budget and on time.
