Esquimalt Graving Dock
Client: Public Works and Government Services Canada
Project Value: $7.4M
Date: Completed on time in March 2017
Scope: Our work was composed of 2 projects, the South Side Electrical Upgrade and the North Landing Wharf Electrical upgrade. The purpose of the projects was to complete the civil and electrical work that would allow the replacement of 2 existing substations at the Esquimalt Graving Dock. The work was contracted by Public Works and Government Services Canada, and the work involved the installation of a completely new conduit system including manholes that were installed both above and below grade. The work had to occur while the graving dock was in use and in areas of tidal influence, so there was much coordination required between the operations staff as well as periods of low tides.
